Estaca De Bares
It is the northernmost point of the peninsula and separates the Cantabrian Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Its cliffs are beaten relentlessly by wind and presiding at the top we find the lighthouse that continues with its guiding flashes for these whitewater mariners.
Bars stake is recognized by many birdwatchers as the best place in Europe to spot oceanic birds. You’ll find it close to the lighthouse, next to an old military base.
It is an important point of passage for many migratory birds because situation involves the routes of the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Arctic. Between September and December it becomes the ideal place to assist the migration of marine and terrestrial species . Every Year, more than a million birds pass through here.

Located 330m above sea level . Small guardhouse from which you can see the whole coast from the Estaca de Bares to Cabo Ortegal.
